The Charles Sturt Regional Innovation Bootcamp can help you unleash your potential, designed for you to understand where to start in turning an innovative idea into reality and be immersed in the world of innovation to feel confident every step of the way.

This two-day bootcamp will work through the basics to:

What's an innovative idea?

Definition

An innovative idea is a new way to do things. Whether it is a new product or service, an app to make people’s lives easier, a platform or a new process to help businesses be more efficient, you are an innovator if you are thinking of a solution that creates a positive impact for the community and organisations.

The Charles Sturt Regional Innovation Bootcamp is a 90% subsidised program* (you pay only $99+GST) with two days packed with learning opportunities, experts that will guide and help you through this process, and a network of like-minded individuals to build your first tribe of curious innovation learners.

Crystal is an entrepreneur based in Port Macquarie with experience in multiple startups, backed by 18 years of owning an innovation consultancy that attracted and serviced major clients, including: Local, State and Federal Governments, Rio Tinto, QGC Shell and Bechtel.

Crystal has experience in program development, project management, grants and acquittals, company governance, obtaining an Australian Innovation Patent and trademarks and securing investment from private and angel investors. With a love of innovation, Crystal is passionate about supporting other entrepreneurs.

Who is the Charles Sturt Regional Innovation Bootcamp for?

This bootcamp is for anyone (men and women) with an idea based in Regional NSW who would like to take the first step into the innovation world and learn where to start to turn innovative ideas into reality.

Whether you’re a student wanting to explore more about the innovation or entrepreneurial journey, the owner of a small shop or business who has an idea to digitally transform parts of the business to help its expansion, a young professional who has an innovative idea you’d like to implement at work, or someone who would like to create a business as the next stage of their life, and you are based in Port Macquarie or Regional NSW, then the Charles Sturt Regional Innovation Bootcamp is for you.

We recognise and acknowledge the intersection of race and gender identities. This bootcamp welcomes Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People, and marginalised or underrepresented communities.

Can I apply if I'm not a student of Charles Sturt University?

Yes, you are more than welcome to apply. If your application is approved you will access the program with a subsidy of 90%.

How do I apply?

You can apply online with two simple steps. First, register through our website via the 'Apply Now' button. You will then be sent an email with the full application form.

When do applications close?

Application close dates are advised on the website and included in the application email.

EXTENDED DEADLINE: Applications for the current bootcamp are closing at AEST 5 PM on Monday, 5 June 2023.

What will happen after my application is submitted?

After this, your application will be reviewed by Charles Sturt University Innovation Hub and Tech Ready Women representatives to initiate the shortlisting process, and we will be in touch with you if your application in regard to your application outcome.

Please consider that submitting your application does not mean automatic attendance at the bootcamp.

When will I be notified on my application outcome?

Applications results will be notified during the second week of June 2023 via email and/or phone.

How many spots are available in the bootcamp?

The Charles Sturt Regional Innovation Bootcamp is offered to limited spots of 20 participants, so get your application in!

What’s the bootcamp fee?

The Charles Sturt Regional Innovation Bootcamp is free for current Charles Sturt University staff and students, and heavily subsidised by 90% for the general public.

This means that if you're not a Charles Sturt staff or student and your application is successful, 90% of your program fee is covered and you pay the remaining $99+GST prior to the start of the bootcamp.

In addition, Charles Sturt University Alumni are offered a discounted fee of $49+GST.

We can also provide some financial support for extenuating circumstances (i.e. if you're going through financial hardship). If this is your case, please contact us at [email protected]

When and where will the bootcamp be held?

The Charles Sturt Regional Innovation Bootcamp will be held in person on 22 and 23 June 2023 at the Charles Sturt University Innovation Hub of Port Macquarie.

Each day will start at 9 AM and end at 4 PM, with a 45-minute lunch break at 12.30 PM.

Lunch, tea, coffee and refreshments will be provided on both days.

Can I apply if I'm not based in Port Macquarie?

Yes, you can apply if you're based in Regional NSW and are able to attend the bootcamp in person at Charles Sturt University Innovation Hub in Port Macquarie.
