Tech Ready Startup Stories: Meet the CEO Helping Over 100 Startups

Tank Stream Labs is one of Australia’s leading breeding grounds for technology entrepreneurs, thought leaders and early adopters, and recently won best co-working space in Australia at the FinTech Awards.

In this edition of Tech Ready Women Christie interviews Brad Delamare, the CEO of Tank Stream Labs (TSL) to chat about all things startup, tech and coworking.

TSL houses over 100 startups with over 300 members and is located close to Circular Quay. Amenities include 24/7 office hour access (with showers), high-speed internet, meeting rooms, an events space and networking events, so all you have to do is focus on building your business.

Brad originally started his career in the UK working at EY. He later transferred over to the Sydney office, where he had the chance to work closely with startups. He loved the culture around the startup world and found the energy to be infectious, so he knew he had to get involved.

As the CEO, Brad has the opportunity to chat with many different founders and he says the top three things they struggle with is: time management, funding and recruiting and retaining top talent. To help assist early-stage startups to receive funding Brad played a key role setting up Seed Money – a program that gives startups the chance to pitch to investors.

Brad recommends coworking to anyone who is ready to start their business. Being in a vibrant coworking space ensures you’re surrounded with like-minded individuals who are all having the same experience as you.

“Coworking is all about community, collaboration, sharing experiences, working together and networking.”

TSL has also partnered with the global recruitment firm Talent to bring in their own in-house recruitment expert, Adam who advises and helps startups locate the best talent. Other global players TSL has partnered with include: EY, Visa, and IBM.

Brad’s a mentor and champion of the Tech Ready Program because he is passionate about diversity and tech. Currently, there are only a couple of female founders located in TSL (out of over 100 startups) and Brad wants to play an integral role in increasing the female founder count.
